What’s in my Inbox | Keeping your supporters informed (Greenpeace)

I loved this recent email from Greenpeace’s Executive Director, Annie Leonard. Take a look at what Greenpeace does right:

  • She immediately attributes the success of the organization’s recent activism to you, the reader
  • Greenpeace tells their David vs. Goliath story, simply and succinctly
  • If you missed the story, you’re directed to find it on the Greenpeace blog
  • Layer the gratitude: “….I just want to take a moment to thank the climbers, the kayaktivists, the people of Portland and especially you for all that you’ve done to make this moment possible. Thank you.
  • The email finishes with an exceptional close: “I’ve said this before and I believe it now more strongly than ever. If it’s the “people vs. Shell” I like our chances.”

I do too. As a donor, as a reader, you get the very real sense that, yes, you can change the world. This story continues to their home page. Click to download.
