How is your organization factoring Giving Tuesday into your year-end fundraising? Today’s What’s in my Inbox highlights three different email takes from 2014.

  1. I loved this email from FINCA, an organization with a mission to “alleviate poverty through lasting solutions that help people build assets, create jobs and raise their standard of living.” Their Giving Tuesday email, featuring strong visuals and a simple layout, asks us to remember the spirit of giving that is at the heart of the holiday season and share a client’s recipe for Ugandan Pineapple Nut Bread. Nice close: “On this Giving Tuesday, take a moment to give to FINCA and give someone like Madina the chance to pass on her prosperity to her community and future generations.”
  2. Double and even triple matches seem to be a theme in many Giving Tuesday emails. This one, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, highlights some of the visitor stories.
  3. Feed the Children adopts a personal approach. Their story, from Kevin Hagen, invites the reader into their Thanksgiving holiday with Kenyan orphans. Wonderful invitation, featuring a terrific closing.
