What’s In My Inbox | Opportunities to connect with donors are endless, and Halloween is one!

October 31, 2018

Time and time again, we’ve mentioned that when it comes to reaching out to your donors, there are an abundance of opportunities throughout the year. That means endless possibilities for talking to your supporters and strengthening relationships. For making sure you don’t forget about them and that they don’t forget about you. Holidays are extra special but really, you can make any day extra special. It’s all about your donors and how you can communicate with them in a memorable way. Remember the donor communication rule: communicate frequently *and* well. Halloween is today, and Halloween is a golden opportunity for reaching out. See how World Wildlife Fund reached out to their supporters on this ghoulish day.

I like their email header: Don’t be scared… It’s not only fitting, it’s playful and fun. And that carries over to the content of the email, too. Here, with perfect timing, WWF gives love to some traditionally squeamish creatures while also educating their supporters in the form of fun facts about each animal.

You know what else is awesome? The Halloween Ecard link in the email. When you click on it, you’re directed to nine different card designs that you can pick from to send to your friends and family. You’re not only wishing them a spooktacular day, you’re making them aware of WWF and their mission.

Did your organization partake in Halloween opportunities in a festive and donor-friendly way? If so, I’d love to hear about it. Check out WWF’s email below…
