What’s in my Inbox | Preemptive Love with a call to unity

May 20, 2020

Preemptive Love is a nonprofit with a beautiful mission:

We’re a coalition stretching across Iraq, Syria, the United States, and beyond, working together to unmake violence and create the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

Their digital communications provide a case study in donor love, including their donor newsletter. All of their processes are refreshingly seamless and donor-focused.

In their most recent donor e-newsletter, they lead with the post, Reopen or Stay Home?

But before you label someone simply because they hold a different view than you, stop to consider why. Listen. Ask questions. And hold space for the fact that someone not agreeing with you doesn’t change their worth, their value.

COVID-19 can be something that brings us together, that teaches us to care for each other, to listen to each other, to hold space for one another and appreciate each other. Or it can be another in a long list of polarizing moments that drive us further apart, that pit us against each other, that label us and divide us.

There’s a better way. And it starts with us.

The messaging is on point with their mission and their brand. More importantly, it conveys an important message for right now.
