What’s in My Inbox | How are you celebrating your donors on Valentine’s Day?

February 14, 2023

Valentine’s Day. Over the years, February 14th has become a cultural and commercial celebration of romance and love throughout the world.

Valentine’s Day is also the ideal day to celebrate your donors. See how these nonprofits have remembered their donors:

Palmetto Animal League

Who could resist opening an email with the subject line “Handsome Hunk Seeks Soulmate?”

Through a series of adorable photos, Palmetto Animal League celebrates its donors (“Because of you, homeless animals are filled with hope”), shared the story of Mr. Mooney, a high-maintenance hunk, and invited their supporters to Send a Valentine with a donation.

Heifer International

This global nonprofit works to eradicate poverty and hunger. And Heifer International’s colorful, simple valentine to send a valentine inspires cheer and goodwill. “Will 𝘦𝘸𝘦 be my valentine?” Heifer helpfully notes: “Your e-card recipient’s email will not be added to our email list.” No donation is required.

Nashville Rescue Mission

I loved NRM’s valentine — a true celebration of donors. They’ve shared stories from staff and clients alike. And let the donor know that their generosity is what transforms lives.

Likewise, DCFYI’s Valentine’s Day message is a tribute to their donor’s support — no ask. A lovely reminder that gratitude matters.
