How are small nonprofit organizations using the power of email to love their donors? Join us every Tuesday for What’s in my Inbox.

Consistency is a vital element in your nonprofit email marketing success.  Why?  If an individual signs up for your list, and then doesn’t hear from you for three weeks, they’re likely to forget they ever signed up.  Consistency is one of the six principles of influence cited by Dr. Robert Cialdini in Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion.

My friend, Ashley Tobin of Connecting Coffee, forwarded me this email.  Ashley wrote:  “I love what Cancer Support Community of Delaware does with their weekly emails (see below). There’s almost always a sweet, homey note that isn’t heavy with cancer-related information. It feels very welcoming and I can scroll down to get the latest on upcoming events.”
