Remember Michelle Brinson, storyteller for Nashville Rescue Mission? They’re the organization that raises over $2 million a year from their print newsletter alone through the power of their strongly donor-focused storytelling. But what do you get when you complement superlative storytelling with evocative design? Michelle has shared Nashville Rescue Mission’s latest read for us.

Michelle says: “Storytelling is a powerful tool in a fundraiser’s toolbox. But if you really want to pack the punch, find a way to mesh the power of visual storytelling with the written word. When you can do that, and do it well, you’ll hit a home run every time. I believe this month’s newsletters is one of the most powerful newsletters we’ve done. Visually, it grabs you. You see this sweet moment between a mother and son along with the title, “Another Chance” and you can’t help but wonder what happened. It’s a blessing and honor to be a part of a team that brings these stories of transformation to life month after month. We love our donors, and what better way to express that than through sharing the stories we get to see and hear every day with them on a monthly basis. It makes what we do worthwhile and I hope the donor sees just how valuable they are to the work we do.”
