What’s In My Mailbox | From first gift, to lifetime…AGF’s letter shows you how!

March 21, 2019

Last year, The Andrew Goodman Foundation participated in our Basics & More All Access Ticket, and judging by their current communications, they’re still putting the lessons to great use in 2019. AGF’s mission is to empower young people by encouraging political participation. They’ve helped make young voices and votes a powerful force in our democracy, at a time when our country needs it the most. They’re doing vital work. It was an honor to work with them.

AGF recently revamped their monthly giving appeal, and it was a total home run. Created by Emily Curran, Communications & Development Manager, and Kevin Hurtado, Communications & Development Associate, this letter makes the donor feel like a hero from the start.

What’s good?

  • AGF’s successful lawsuit against the State of Florida – and Vote Everywhere Ambassador Megan, has been told succinctly and effectively.
  • The structure of the letter is basic and heartfelt.
  • “You made this possible.” This simple sentence makes the reader feel like they’re part of a movement.

Clearly, AGF knows that having a strong monthly giving program is important. The letter is part of a new donor strategy and will be mailed out to new donors with a plan of converting them to monthly donors. To that end, AGF has a dedicated focus on taking their donors from the first gift to lifetime. And that’s exactly what sustainable, long-term fundraising is about. It’s a great letter. Take a look!
